International Study Opportunities
St. Andrew's-Sewanee School welcomes students from around the world. In any give year, the student body represents as many as 18 countries. However, we recognize that exposure to different cultures is not enough to produce tomorrow's global citizen. Sometimes you just have to see the world for yourself.
In recent years, SAS faculty members have led study tours to France, Greece, Mexico and China. The trips are open to day and boarding students, both domestic and international. Sometimes parents are even included. The tours are led by faculty members who know the countries, the cultures and the language.
SAS also provides students with opportunities for more extended foreign study. Thanks to a partnership with the Cloud Forest School, a bilingual environmentally-conscious school in Monteverde, Costa Rica, each year an SAS sophomore or junior has the opportunity to study for one semester in Costa Rica. Through the school's membership with the American Secondary Schools for International Students and Teachers (ASSIST), SAS students are also eligible to participate in the Olomouc Summer Institute for Young Leaders in The Czech Republic.
