Afternoon Programs

Afternoon Programs are an important complement to academics. Students have a broad range of activity options available through our Afternoon Programs including drama performances, varsity and junior varsity athletics, music lessons, outing/wilderness experiences, community service, horseback riding, dance team, mountain biking, strength and conditioning, aerobics, and yearbook. Students may also design and receive approval for independent programs in areas not available through the school. Past independent programs have included dance courses at the University of the South, fencing and karate.

Afternoon Programs are considered to be part of the curriculum and are listed on student transcripts. Students commit between six and twelve hours each week to their Afternoon Programs for the duration of our twelve-week activities trimesters. Each year, students must complete at least one term of a program that requires physical activity.
