Alumni Rise to Meet the Challenge

It has been just over three months since the announcement of the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School Alumni Challenge, and SAS is already seeing increased support from its alumni.

As of February 29:

  • SAS has raised more than $76,000 of the $250,000 goal, all of which will be matched, dollar-for-dollar. The school still needs $174,000 from its alumni to maximize this opportunity.
  • 284 alumni have made gifts to the SAS Fund this fiscal year. SAS needs another 346 to make a gift to reach the goal of 630 alumni donors. When that happens, SAS will receive an additional $250,000.
  • When both goals are met, alumni will have earned a total of $500,000 for SAS.

There have been a number of first-time donations not only from recent graduates, but also from graduates of SAS’s parent schools, St. Andrew’s School, St. Mary’s School, Sewanee Military Academy, and Sewanee Academy. “It’s great to see everyone coming together in support of SAS. My hope is that we meet or exceed our goals by Alumni Weekend so that all in attendance can celebrate,” says Assistant Director of Advancement Stephen Brehm.

Alumni of SAS or its parent schools who wish to make a gift in response to the Challenge must do so by June 30 for their gift to qualify.
