SAS History Students Visit US District Court

Our 11th grade U.S. History students spent the day at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, by invitation of Judge Curtis Collier. During the day, students applied their recent study of the United States Constitution to compete in a Civics Bowl, challenging the students to use their understanding of government and history in a competitive, game show-like experience, led by judges and law clerks. They were also able to learn about the legal profession, civic engagement, and careers in public service through a casual lunch and an interactive Q&A session with judges and attorneys.
