On Monday, March 24, the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee middle school track team traveled to Chattanooga for the Independent School Conference season-opening meet at Chattanooga Christian School.
Three SAS runners—Arabella Barry, Nora Jane Elrod, and Elena Brodsky—all broke the school’s middle school girls’ record in the 1600m, with Barry leading the way with a time of 6:39.46.
Several athletes set new personal records (PRs) in the 800m, including RH Benton, Louis Borchers, Asher Kavur, Fletcher Keener, Arabella Barry, Savannah Blosser, and Elena Brodsky. Kavur and Keener also dropped a combined 35 seconds in the 1600m. In the 400m, Alex Glacet posted a season-best time, while the boys’ 4x400m relay team—RH Benton, Alex Glacet, Fletcher Keener, and Asher Kavur—set a new season low of 4:40.43.
The SAS middle school team will be back in action on Friday, April 4th at the CCS Middle School Invite.
St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Track Excels at Eagle’s Nest Invitational
On Friday, March 28, the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee varsity track team delivered strong performances at the Eagle’s Nest Invitational at Signal Mountain High School. Several athletes secured top finishes, achieved personal records, and set season-best marks.
