The SAS Middle School and High School Science Olympiad teams competed in the regional meet at MTSU on March 1. The Middle School team placed 9th by earning medals in eight of the twenty-two events. The high school team finished 12th and medaled in five of the twenty-two events.
St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School’s Middle School and High School Science Olympiad teams headed to Murfreesboro for the regional competition on Saturday, March 1.
Under the coaching of science teachers Luke Diamond and Liz Quinn-Stine, the Middle School team placed 9th by earning medals in eight of the twenty-two events. The high school team finished 12th and medaled in five of the twenty-two events.
Students competing for the Middle School team included Rachel Alvarez, Emma Diamond, Megan Griffith, Shyanne Griffith, Max LaFrenier, Cooper Nickels, Hadley Parsons, Aidan Smith, Polly Thurman, Lyndsey Wall, and Kyra Wilson. The High School team consisted of Andrea Ahn, Issac Ahn, Joshua Alvarez, Andrew Bachman, Elliot Duncan, John Farris, Colburn Hassman, Lachlan Hassman, Seth Horton, Edward Kang, Wyatt Lindlau, Dan McNair, Eliza McNair, Fritz Stine, Patrick Toomey, Aaron Willis, and Yudong Yin. Additional team members were Nathan Johnson and Ashton Milford.
