Posted 12/02/2015 08:18AM

Under the guidance of art teacher Osei Hill, the St. Andrew's-Sewanee School 7th grade Art & Design class is launching a Pop-Up Cafe that will debut Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 at the Tennessee Craft-Southeast 2015 Holiday Tour of Artists' Studios & Galleries. The Pop-Up Café will be located in the SAS Art Studio.

Students have been working diligently for the past several months developing a variety of interdisciplinary projects to raise awareness and support in the community to assist a young Syrian refugee. Projects have included discussion and assignments in Graphic Design/Information Graphics, Photo Journalism, Art Installation, Entrepreneurship/Non-Profits, and Culinary Arts.

"Students will have an array of tasty treats for purchase ranging from Hot Chocolate Cupcakes to our 'Extra Muddy Double Buddy' Crunch," said Hill. All profits and donations will be used to directly aid the educational needs of a refugee the same age as the SAS students.
