St. Andrew's-Sewanee School senior and student-athlete Sarah Johnson will continue her education and basketball career at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. Sarah is a four-year day student at SAS from Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee. She attended Swiss Memorial Middle School.
Sarah is a four-year varsity athlete in soccer and basketball and co-president of the Barbell Club. She is an Ambassador for the admission office and a Proctor, the most respected leadership position on campus. An enthusiastic and committed scholar, in addition to taking advanced classes in biology and statistics Sarah is an outstanding artist in the school's pottery program. Her clay pieces will be on display in the SAS Gallery for a special senior exhibition during the month of May. Sarah plans to study biology and a second language in college with the dream of becoming a doctor.
"Sarah's growth as an athlete at SAS has been amazing to watch," said Athletic Director Rob Zeitler. "She has dedicated herself to working hard in the weight room and on the court and now all that work has paid off. She has put herself in position to be a part of an up and coming basketball program in Sewanee. I know she is excited and honored to be a part of that Sewanee basketball team."
Sewanee is a NCAA Division III school and a member of the Southern Athletic Association.
