On Monday, May 7 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., the St. Andrew's-Sewanee School eighth graders will present their individual "This I Believe" presentations in McCrory Hall for the Performing Arts. The public is invited to attend.
In the 1950s, journalist Edward R. Murrow's "This I Believe" radio program allowed Americans to hear well-known public figures discuss the values that guided their lives. Loosely based on this broadcast, the SAS "This I Believe" presentations are the culmination of work conducted during the advisory period. Each eighth grader will present the values they have come to believe in based on their own experiences.
A reception and the opportunity to view artwork by the middle school in the Simmonds Building and art studios, will follow the eighth grade presentations. An exhibition of work by the advanced clay students will be on display in the SAS Gallery.
