St. Andrew's-Sewanee School welcomes the families of its 178 Upper School and boarding students to attend Family Weekend, Friday September 28-Sunday, September 30. The weekend is an opportunity for both day and boarding families to get a glimpse of the SAS classroom experience, meet with teachers, advisors, house heads and coaches, and connect with other families.
Friday's highlights include a home football game and cross country meet with dinner at the field, a parents' reception at Ayres House, and an all-Beethoven concert by the Vega Quartet at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the day begins early with a Q & A session with Dean of Students Laura Clay and Academic Dean Kelley Black, an all-parent meeting followed by a class walk-through, faculty office hours, and a college counseling session for parents of juniors and seniors. Saturday evening entertainment includes Creative Expression at 7:30 p.m. with a very special surprise performance. The event is an evening version of the student assembly that encourages the community to share arts performances. The weekend concludes with a Sunday Eucharist and brunch. The Eucharist, which begins at 10:30 a.m., will feature student musicians. Past parent the Rev. Annwn Myers will be the celebrant and Head of School Karl Sjolund will be preaching. The athletic events, Vega Quartet concert, Creative Expression, and Sunday Eucharist are open to the public.View the complete schedule.
