Session Two - June 17-23, 2018
Class full, wait list only

Course Description
Bring your adventurous sewing dreams to life by joining Linda Lee of the Sewing Workshop Pattern Collection for a week-long fitting and sewing experience. Discover new talents and hone your skills by immersing yourself in garment sewing wonder.

So let’s make a plan. In this workshop, you’ll dive into a set of skills that centers around the art of modern garment sewing. With her extensive creative and technical knowledge, Linda will help you fit and prepare patterns appropriate for your figure type, consult in the selection of suitable fabrics from your own stash and new sources that fit your lifestyle, and demonstrate both classic and innovative constructions details. You will leave having constructed at least one well-made garment, as well as some samples of various techniques, and a host of other patterns ready to complete your wardrobe plan. All skill levels are welcome.

Artist's Biography
Linda’s training and experience as an interior designer has come in handy as she travels the country teaching the art of combining beautiful fabrics for the fashion–conscious home sewer. Along with teaching fitting skills and fine sewing techniques, she is known for designing patterns under the name of The Sewing Workshop, a line of patterns for the modern sewer who is interested in architecturally interesting styles to flatter with flare.

Along with five talented staff members, she operates out of her pattern-making studio in Topeka, Kansas, where you will find a huge inventory of fabrics that are sold online. She produces a monthly series of inspirational tutorials called Sew Confident! in which she breaks down the latest fashion trends into real-life sewing experiences for people who want to sew better than they can buy.

With ten Craftsy classes and 13 books under her belt, Linda has the depth of experience and enthusiasm needed to pass on the fine art of sewing clothes to her students.

Linda loves cats, fashion labels Marni and Akris, Roger Federer, vintage hand stitching, Fillmore Street in San Francisco, and Oreo Blizzards.

Artist's Statement

The focus of my work is to create clothes that disguise various figure irregularities and flatter any body type. I do this through the use of interesting architectural angles and lines and appropriate fabrics and colors, with an emphasis on using fine fabrics with beautiful drape when needed. I love working with women who want to improve their looks through how they dress, who want to learn couture sewing techniques and apply them to everyday sewing projects.
