Multi-block Color Relief Printmaking

Course Description
In this class participants will draw, carve, and print color woodblocks from start to finish. Source material may be brought or decided upon in class. We will cover all the basics using small blocks in the first half of the course, and then begin to complete some more ambitious pieces throughout the remaining time. Participants will be given 3/8” shina plywood to make their woodcuts. We will discuss drawing composition and inking styles, carving techniques, detail work, printing, registration, and transferring images between blocks.
