Like most students in middle and upper school, day students spend the school day on campus and often return in the evenings for school events. They also spend time on campus during the weekends, participating in activities that have been planned. From bonfires to sunset hikes, from capture the flag in the gym to organizing a pick-up soccer game, or just watching a movie or shooting pool in the Student Union, day students like to join in–and add to–the weekend fun on campus.

Day students often invite boarding students home for weekend sleepovers or even to spend a holiday break. Likewise, many day students have traveled to another state or country to visit a boarding student friend. With day-parent and house-parent permissions, day students can even spend the night in the dorm with a boarding buddy!

Our day students’ lives are enriched by the diversity of cultures they interact with each day, with peers from North Carolina to the Netherlands. Learning about different languages, traditions, and experiences broadens their perspectives and leads to cherished lifelong friendships.
