Investing in SAS
St. Andrew's-Sewanee School is committed to making our superb college preparatory program available to deserving students. We annually award roughly $2.1 million in financial aid. In 2024-2025, 47% of our student body received a financial aid grant. Listed below are several options that families can use to help manage the cost of tuition.
Tuition Assistance
Need-based financial aid provides assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend St. Andrew's-Sewanee School. The St. Andrew's-Sewanee School Financial Aid program is designed to make a St. Andrew's-Sewanee School education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. St. Andrew's-Sewanee School is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.
St. Andrew's-Sewanee School adheres to the National Association of Independent Schools' (NAIS) "Principles of Good Practice" which recognizes that families bear the primary responsibility for financing their children's education. A monthly evaluation of your income and expenses can be helpful in determining affordability of independent schools. Helpful resources are Clarity's "Family Application Guide" and "Quick Reference Guides"
To get started, please go to the **Clarity Application** and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.
Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as St. Andrew's-Sewanee School requires you to upload additional tax documentation.
The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is Dec. 16 for returning families and Feb. 1 for new families. (Applications received after the deadline will be processed if funds are available.)
If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at [email protected] or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
When will you be informed of the decision?
Financial aid grants will not be finalized until all appropriate forms mentioned above have been received.
New Families - No financial aid grant will be offered until the student’s admission application is processed and the student is offered admission at St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School. For families who have completed the Admission application and Financial Aid application by Feb. 1, 2027 you will be notified of both Admission and FA decisions by March 1, 2027. Once a student has been accepted, the parents will be notified of the acceptance through email correspondence, and the pdf version of the acceptance letter will be attached to this email. You will log into your CORE account where you will be able to review the enrollment contract and any financial aid that was awarded can be found on page two of the enrollment contract. While first consideration will be given to applications received by Feb. 1, applications received after Feb. 1 will be reviewed on a rolling basis depending on availability of funds.
Returning Families - Students in good academic and financial standing will begin receiving re-enrollment contracts for the 2026-2027 school year through their Parent Portal in CORE beginning Feb. 17, 2026. Re-enrollment contracts will only be issued once the new Clarity application and supporting documents are submitted and your financial aid award has been approved.

Thanks to a generous donation, SAS has a special scholarship program specifically for deserving students from Shelby County, Tennessee, to pursue a boarding school education at SAS at little or no tuition cost. Students with academic promise, demonstrated financial need, and demonstrated leadership ability whose presence enhances the cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, and/or racial diversity of the school will be given priority.
The scholarships are named in honor of the Rev. Colenzo Hubbard, founding Executive Director of the Emmanuel Center in Memphis. Father Hubbard has been a crucial link between the youth of Memphis and St. Andrew's-Sewanee School. The school is grateful to him for the many students he has sent our way and for the support he provided to those students as throughout their SAS journeys.
