Parents

For close to 150 years, St. Andrew's-Sewanee School and its predecessors have worked with parents to provide their children with the best possible education and social setting. What our experience tells us is that each child, each parent, each family, and each situation is unique. We see our role as working with parents to help each family navigate the sometimes bumpy, but always fascinating, voyage of adolescence.

Frequent communication among parents, advisors, and teachers helps everyone to better understand the social and intellectual needs and development of each child. We also encourage parents to develop supportive relationships and new friendships with fellow parents through school events and volunteer opportunities.

Parent Communication

St. Andrew's-Sewanee School understands that parents want to be partners in their children's education. Whether your child is a boarding student or day student, the school encourages frequent communication between teachers and parents and students and parents.

  • SAS-A-FACTS is a weekly e-newsletter sent to parents each Wednesday. It includes school news, volunteer opportunities, and coming events.
  • Your child's classroom teachers provide comments and/or grades at least 8x each year.
  • Your child's advisor will be in touch at least 4x each year.
  • ParentsWeb is a password-protected site for student, parent, faculty and staff directories, student schedules, and grades. Parents may also update their registration and enrollment information here.

Get involved!

The Mountain Lion Club is one of the many great ways to get to know other parents.

Parents are also needed throughout the year for help with theater productions, Middle School activities, fundraising activities, and more.
